Covington Youth

Covington Wesleyan Church has a very active Youth Ministry (ages 13 up)
under the direction of
Phil Surrett. We meet on Wednesday evening at
7pm and again on Sunday evening at 5:15pm in the New Family Life Center. Activities include Bible Study, group studies,
and an occasional “D.U.” (Destination Unknown) night out!

Other activities include district Youth Camp (at Victory Mountain in Asheboro NC), Youth Conventions, Retreats, etc.

In the winter we have participated in ski trips and lock-ins; in the summer there are whitewater rafting trips, theme park trips, swimming trips, and countless other activities.

We have fundraisers to ensure that we will be able to travel to youth conventions, etc. These fundraisers may include car washes, calendar sales, etc., but our main one is working concessions at the Wake Forest football games in the fall.

We strive to provide a good balance for our Youth that includes spiritual, social, and recreational opportunities. We believe that the youth of today are our church leaders and teachers of tomorrow and that they fill an important place in our church.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are Young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
